DIY: How to Clean your Window Aircon Amidst of Enhanced Community Quarantine
Hi guys! How are we doing right now? I hope and pray everyone's in
good condition while we are in enhanced quarantine. I will not write something about
Covid but some helpful tips I found that you can do while you are staying at
home.
I just felt summer is coming now and the ambient temperature
started to increase. Based on PAG-ASA as of April 11, 2020 2:55PM ambient is
32.6C.
Amidst of ECQ I found helpful tips courtesy by Concepcion-Carrier. This was been provided as we know service technicians won't be able to attend our needs.
But once the quarantine has been lifted, we encourage to
book a cleaning service for them to provide with a more thorough cleaning of our
air-conditioning unit.
Before we start..
WHAT ARE THE THINGS NEEDED
- Vacuum cleaner
- Medium sized basin, a pale or bucket to hold water.
- Soft cloth
SAFETY FIRST. Always switch OFF the unit and remove the plug
from the power outlet.
STEP 1
Remove the front grille by pressing the side of metal casing
gently. Do this is also in the other side and hold the front grille with hands
STEP 2
Gently remove front grille from the casing. Be sure hinge connections
at the top are remove.
For the top vent unit, screw at both side must be remove
prior.
There is probably question as some point air filter can be removed instantly by sliding it out from the front grille. But in this instruction whole front grille is to be removed.
